OFTEC & Gas Safe Accredited Plumbing & Heating Engineer (£35k – £38k p/a)

Main Purpose of the Role:

To provide a high quality and cost effective heating system inspection, maintenance and repair service. Main duties will be the inspection and commissioning of existing systems. Where required the post will include repairing and installing gas and oil heating systems and plumbing works at various domestic and commercial properties within Aspect Group Services Ltd areas of operation.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Undertake the inspection, commissioning, repairs and maintenance of gas and oil fuel heating
  • Be responsible for the pre-, during- and post- works safe working procedure and inspection process for properties where appliance flues pass through any working areas or roof areas that Aspect Group Services Ltd are working. Bring appliance components to current standards to ensure relevant Legislation, relevant trade body and industry standards and best practice are
  • Carry out other maintenance, repairs and remedial work as directed, including plumbing, carpentry etc. to a high quality of workmanship
  • Carry out installation, operation, maintenance and repairs of plant and equipment
  • Complete Plumbing and Heating works in accordance with Aspect Group Services Ltd. specifications and in compliance with the relevant Legislation, relevant trade body and industry standards and best practice. Complete all industry standard documentation and inspection/ testing
  • Have an understanding and can carry out Legionella Risk Assessments to properties as requested including preparation and completion of necessary paperwork
  • Be willing to participate in a non-rostered emergency ‘out of hours’ service as required, including carrying out other multi skilled associated trades work where
  • Be responsible for the care and condition of all vehicles, plant tools and equipment issued to or used by the post holder, completing all related pre-use or scheduled safety inspections as
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation and/or verbal reports relating to unsafe equipment are immediately communicated to their line manager, advising the line manager of any defects requiring repair, and to ensure that the equipment is stored or made safe in such way as to not be used by a third party.
  • Work to operational procedures, safe working practices and Health and Safety procedures and approved codes of practice as
  • Attend safety meetings, training and briefings as may be
  • Be responsible for completing dynamic risk assessments when arriving at site, checking that the safety of themselves and/or others will not be compromised by completing the
  • Ensure that all accident, near miss events or potential hazards are reported to your line manager immediately.
  • Ensure that work areas are kept in a safe condition whilst the work is being carried out and that the area is made safe at the end of the
  • Assemble material plot packs as
  • Carry out progress monitoring on site to determine material supply needs while minimising over- ordering and wasted materials
  • Undertake such other duties as may be reasonably allocated by line manager

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Full driving licence
  • Educated to GSCE level
  • OFTEC Accredited
  • Gas Safe Accredited (or equivalent)
  • Heating and plumbing trade background
  • Previous experience within a customer service focussed role
